From yesterday, July 2, orphans of female victims of femicide will be able to access a specific fund.
This is what the interministerial decree published in the official gazette provides.
In particular, it is expected that the children (both minors and adults) of women killed by partners, husbands, cohabitants, exes, fathers and brothers will be able to take advantage of scholarships, support for orientation and training for employment, incentives for hiring, medical expenses provided for by the law that protects orphaned girls, boys, girls and boys, often of both parents and victims twice, because they have, in large part, witnessed the violence and the killing of their mother and they find in many cases deprived of both parents.
Foster families will also be financially supported.
Sometimes it is the relatives of the victims (retired grandparents or uncles) who find themselves facing the difficulties in complete solitude.
The little victims need psychological and legal assistance, scholastic support, economic help and so on.
The aforementioned provision makes available 14.5 million euros for 2020 and 12 million per year from 2021 to 2024.
It is right that the State does not abandon, as it often has, orphans for domestic crimes and foster families who, after having faced an unimaginable tragedy, find themselves alone in their pain and in serious economic difficulties.
I believe it would be appropriate and dutiful to provide a similar fund for victims of deformation of the person's appearance through permanent injuries to the face.
The victims of this terrible crime, punished pursuant to art. 583 quinquies of the criminal code with imprisonment from eight to fourteen years, they have to face numerous and costly operations. Often the perpetrators are helpless and offer no compensation.
I hope that as soon as possible we think of supporting those victims as well. In addition to operations for the body, necessary to save the functionality of the organs (sight, hearing ...), also for the psyche.
