Easy gun? Proposals in Parliament

Following the approval of the law on self-defense, proposals are pouring in to simplify the process of obtaining a permit to possess a weapon for personal defense.

I don't think that's the case.

I also think that these proposals, which are absolutely unreasonable, are only aimed at riding a very dangerous wave.

Having more guns in circulation does not mean enjoying greater safety.
Let's think about America, where having a gun is a constitutionally guaranteed right. I don't think they live in a climate of collective security: on the contrary, it's true.
The homicide rate is high precisely because of the direct consequence of owning a gun.

It may happen, in fact, that the criminal who decides to commit an aggression, fearing that the victim is armed, wants to avoid a reaction and therefore decides to kill him or her regardless.
It is also possible that he will consider the possibility of immediately neutralizing the victim while he is sleeping. In this case, having the gun in the nightstand or under the pillow would be of no use.

In the past, thieves would wait until there was no one at home; now, however, they would no longer hesitate to act.

Not to mention the possibility of being killed by an accidental shot or the bad habit of killing your wife in a nervous moment…

Furthermore, the simple possession of a weapon does not imply the ability or coolness to use it against a criminal who is preparing to attack.

Sometimes fear can paralyze us. Let's not forget that!

Instead, it would be more appropriate for the State to protect us better through the police forces, providing them with the latest generation equipment, increasing their staff, increasing the standard of training and education: this would certainly be a good starting point.
